Reflections at sea and in port have always fascinated me. I have made numerous sketches and photographs of them. My paintings of them are usually a very literal interpretation of the scene in front of me and at first can appear to be very abstract. Here are two photographes from the Calanque de Morgiou near Marseilles and immediately below you will see the resulting painting. The colours in the photographs are not tweeked!

The other paintings below are likewise closely observed details in ports, anchorages, canals and even central Berlin.
